Well..

With everything that's been going on lately* I've been thinking its time to set up a new  'Go-bag'.

You know what I mean, a small to medium knapsack with all the necessary items needed for the task in hand; kind of like the bags pregnant ladies keep by the door for when  they have to haul it to the hospital - nappies, baby grows and blankets.

Except, when it comes to this Go-Bag you'll need to swap all that crap for a heavy dose of doom, apocalypse and a really big gun:

That's right, I've been planning my:

Now I, like all of us, try to maintain a decent level of Zombie Basic Awareness:

1) Always checking the Guardian webpage on the iPhone last thing at night for any 'unusual' stories about 'civil' disturbances etc. etc.

2)Planning out an escape route from any building I'm sleeping in.

3)Confirming nearby and at-a-distance rendezvous points in case of separation from loved/useful ones.

4)Planning evacuation transportation (always going with the horse method over truck)

However, I've decided its time to put a proper kit in place, so whilst the boyfriend and I were stuck in a ring-road traffic jam this afternoon I got to thinking/fantasizing/panicking about what we'd need to get us away from the brain-hungry hordes and wrote a list for him to pick up tomorrow:

"Go Bag"

Water purification tablets

Weapons - Cricket bat

Wire cutters

Knife

Water bottle

Chocolate bars

Dried fruit

Sports bra (nothing more annoying than unruly ta-tas when you're outrunning a Zombie)

Warm clothing

Trainers

Wind up radio (to listen out for Zombie Refugee Zones...)

Mini sleeping bags

Med Kit

Aviator Sunglasses

Gun + Bullets (endless supply)

Light sword 

Cross bow. (Boyfriend's choice)

Only problem is, where to get the guns?

But should we be taking Guns at all? Firstly, the likelihood of finding a gun  is rare, acquiring one an overly complicated legal process and frustratingly, they need bullets to function. A bow or Cross-bow would be good, but I'd probably be rubbish with one and kill my side-kick before decapitating any of the damned ... which leaves swords, cricket bats and knives.

What would you take into battle with you? Melee, fire power or go old school with a blunt club?
